As many of us spend time reflecting on how we’ve been mothered and how wonderful our mothers are/have been, it is also a time to celebrate and what better way to celebrate a woman who has cared for you your whole life than to pamper HER!!?!?! After much thought and deliberation I decided to take my mom to BLISS SPA at The W in Hollywood. The website promised a legendary brownie buffet and treatments to die for. Enough said. Two massages later and with a slew of products in hand we departed thoroughly relaxed and happy.
I was a bit startled at first when my mother’s masseur appeared to be legally blind and not the Swedish Christian Grey-type-hunk I had imagined for her, but her response to his gentle touch and amazing treatment spoke volumes. I love that Bliss Spa is truly an equal opportunity employer!
Though the “buffet” fell FAR short of legendary (maybe that’s more an NYC thing?) the day continued with spray tans and more. I love celebrating my mom. She has done everything she could to help me accomplish my dreams. Dance classes, voice lessons, driving me from to and fro, all so I could be me and she is STILL helping me thrive. I know we should celebrate moms everyday, but I thank Hallmark for putting it on the calendar to remind us!
I celebrated Mother’s Day (proper) in Germany this year and found that Germans also revere the women who birthed them.
